National
Woodie Club
The National
Woodie Club exists to promote
interest in the wooden car, its
beauty, usefulness and
uniqueness; to bring together all
those owners of wooden cars who
wish to swap information, compare
building and restoration
techniques or just associate with
others with like interests. The
wooden car is a special kind of
car, and it deserves special
recognition. This club will work
toward that goal.
Woodies in
Santa Cruz
Woodies from the
past are "cool"
collector cars of the present.
They have graced the landscape
and seascape of America's
coastlines for decades. Less than
10,000 are still being driven by
surfers, carbuffs, and those who
love their sense of nostalgia.
Their beautiful wood panels and
interiors make them drivable
works of art.

Surf
Culture Orange County
Surfing is more
closely associated with cars than
any other sport except auto
racing. The concept of a
"surf car" is unmatched
in any other sport; you don't,
for example, have "baseball
cars" or "ski
cars" or "volleyball
cars."
